Enrolment process

Step 1: Residing in our catchment area

Education Queensland’s online tool will assist you to determine your catchment school.

Once you have determined that you reside in the Buranda State School catchment area, please ensure you have proof of residency documents available (i.e. current rates notice or general tenancy agreement plus 2 current utilities bill).

Step 2: Application

Phone the school to register your interest in enrolling your child. After advice from the school that there is a place for your child, bring in the required documents and an enrolment form will be given to you for completion.

Step 3: Important information

Read these important documents to learn more about our school policies and procedures:

Step 4: Enrolment interview

You will be required to attend an enrolment interview with the principal. Our enrolment officer will assist you to make an appointment at a convenient time. Prior to the interview we will need to see the following documents:

  • The child’s original birth certificate.
  • The child's report card if they have attended another school.
  • Australian citizenship (if applicable).
  • If the child is born overseas, we will also need to see the child’s current passport, visa documents and, if applicable, confirmation of enrolment from Education Queensland International (see information below for international).

Please contact our Enrolment officer on (07) 3435 1222 or via email for further information.
