We organise excursions and incursions (visiting programs) throughout the year to supplement the academic curriculum. We will notify you of these activities in advance.

Buranda State School's refund policy is available here.

Permissions

All incursions, excursions and camps require parent/carer consent. Prior to each activity, parents/carers will receive an email with a copy of the DETE Excursion/Incursion form requesting consent.

Please email the completed and signed copies to admin@burandass.eq.edu.au.

Why do we need permission?

School excursions allow students to participate in incursions/excursions that can enhance their learning and development. These vary in terms of the number of students involved, duration of the planned activity, and venue/s where they are to occur. They may include both regular activities and one-off activities that occur during school hours, overnight  on weekends and/or in school holidays. (eg. Camps, dance, sports days, carnivals etc.)

To ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of students, staff and others (e.g. volunteers), schools are required to proactively manage all aspects of excursions/incursions. The school's duty of care to students extends to school excursions (including camps) that are part of students' educational programs.

Activities conducted off the school site are likely to pose different risks to activities conducted on the school site.

The school will be actively communicating with parents via the approval forms in relation to these events.  Often due to parents having such busy lives we may not have updated medical information and this gives the school the opportunity to gain this information in association with the activity.

Uniforms on Excursions

Unless communicated otherwise, students are expected to wear the full school uniform on excursions.

Camp

We give students in Years 4, 5, and 6, the opportunity to participate in camp. These opportunities may change from year to year.

Information about previous camps can be downloaded from related links.
